Transponder Key Programming: reading the quote

Nothing changes about it. A spare is added alongside the existing key without clearing or altering anything already stored in the vehicle's memory. The only keys that get cleared are the ones you specifically identify as lost, stolen, or no longer wanted, and that is confirmed with you before any clearing happens.

Any extra function added to the new key

Pairing remote entry, trunk release, or proximity walk-up functions onto a new key is additional work beyond the immobilizer chip alone, and each function is confirmed working before the visit is considered finished.

Fob battery or housing replacement

A fob with a failing battery, cracked buttons, or a worn housing may need that hardware replaced alongside the programming, which is identified during the initial check of the key rather than assumed either way.

Number of new keys requested

One replacement key is a smaller task than several keys for several drivers cut and programmed in the same visit, even though the underlying process for each additional key is largely the same.
